Louis Mahar-Builder in Oregon

Louis Mahar is the Managing Member/Owner of Mahar Building and Developing, LLC, a Medford, Oregon-based construction company. The company builds custom, quality homes in Stonegate Estates in Medford and surrounding areas in southern Oregon. Prior to starting his current company, Louis and his brother Charles established Mahar Brothers Construction Company, LLC, which built over 350 homes from 1999 to 2018. They represent the fourth generation of builders in their family. Their great-grandfather, W.L. Moore, founded his own construction company, as did their grandfather, Charles DeCarlow. Their father, Louis Sr., and his brother Dan, founded Pacific Trend Building Company, and another uncle Mike owns and operates Mahar Homes.

Louis Mahar was 17 when he built his first home for his high school graduation project. For his project, he staked the property, poured the foundation, built the frame and worked with subcontractors to complete his house, which he sold upon completion. He then attended Southern Oregon University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration — Management and a minor in Economics. He also served the Builders Association Southern Oregon as treasurer for three years.
